It's important to emphasize that the value of the MRI is in the model as a whole, the complete model, not in any dimension separately. 


Although we have statistics indicating that the internal dimensions of the model, Strategic Alignment and Cross-Functional Collaboration, have demonstrated higher predictive utility than the external dimensions bar none, we do not know what their importance is in the absence of the external dimensions. 


The nature of the model is market focus, the degree of market connected- and responsiveness, and although the internal dimensions show stronger predictive utility they must be seen in the light of their support of the externally oriented dimensions.


We may recommend a focus on certain dimensions in light of the organisation's strategy to grow. We also have a unique understanding of which levers companies should prioritize to gain short term versus longer term impacts of business performance.
